The 5.5.1.0 Tivoli Storage Manager Server packages for Windows have been refreshed on July 25th, 2008 because users found problems running operational reporting. This includes the TSM Server, TSM Storage Agent, and TSM Console packages. The refresh adds APAR IC57290 . If you intend to use operational reporting (reports of the server status via email) install this refreshed version or a later version. CHECKING FOR REFRESHED 5.5.1.0 This version of 5.5.1.0 can be identified by the package's modification date. The modification date can be read by right clicking on the package, choosing Properties, and reading Modified. This package's modification date is July 24th, 2008. The package names are as follows; 5.5.1.0-TIV-TSMCON-Windows.exe , 5.5.1.0-TIV-TSMSRV-Windows.exe , and 5.5.1.0-TIV-TSMSTA-Windows.exe . The versions of the adsmdll.dll for the TSM Server, dstadll.dll for the TSM Storage Agent, and tsmsvr.dll for the TSM Management Console of the updated packages are as follows; adsmdll.dll 5.5.1.8204 , dstadll.dll 5.5.1.8204 , and tsmsvr.dll 5.5.1.8205 . If you already have a package installed you can use these versions to check if you have the refreshed package. The version can be read by right clicking on the file, choosing Properties, and clicking on either the Version tab or the Details tab depending on the operating system. If your server is already running, the versions of dll and exe files can be read after clicking on Version Information of a TSM Server or TSM Storage Agent instance in the TSM Management Console. If you find that your package has a modification date earlier than above or that your 5.5.1.0 has a dll version not matching above, consider installing this refresh. INSTALLING REFRESHED 5.5.1.0 If you already have a 5.5.1.0 TSM Server or TSM Storage Agent installed please stop all instances using either Microsoft's Services tool from the Control Panel or from the TSM Management Console. Deinstall the 5.5.1.0 Tivoli Storage Manager package from Add Remove Programs and Install the refreshed package. In Windows 2008 Add Remove programs has been renamed to Programs and Features.
