1.0 Installing

The following are known installation problems and workarounds.

1.1 Installing with an existing WebSphere Commerce store

If you have a published WebSphere Commerce store, before installing WDME on the same machine, you must create a new instance, and install WDME on that instance. If you install on the same instance, the existing WebSphere Commerce store file assets will be lost, and the store will be broken. For information on installing multiple instances of WebSphere Commerce, see the chapter "Creating multiple WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce Payments instances" in the WebSphere Commerce Installation Guide for your platform.

1.2 Installing for multiple languages

WDME supports multiple languages, however, you must set up a separate store for each language. A single store will not support multiple languages.

2.0 Known problems and workarounds

The following are known problems and workarounds.

2.1 Macintosh users

Media Folder collaboration using SameTime is not supported using a browser in the Mac OS (R) environment.

  1. Reboot the machine.
  2. From the command line, issue the following commands:
    cd WebSphere\AppServer\bin
    startServer wpm_Commerce_Payments_Server

Ensure that you wait for the wpm_Commerce_Payments_Server  command to finish before running the IBMPayServer command.
  3. From the command line, issue the following commands:
    cd WebSphere\CommerceServer55\bin
    IBMPayserver wpm
  4. From the command line, issue the following commands:
    cd WebSphere\AppServer\bin
    startServer WC_demo
2.4 Uploading on UNIX

If you are experiencing problems uploading on UNIX, set the system environment setting as follows:

export DISPLAY=:0.0
prior to starting your WebSphere Commerce Server application server.

2.5 Starting the WC_instance_name server on Windows

If you receive an Internal Server Error after starting the WC_instance_name server on Windows, do the following:

  1. Exit any Web browsers with which you are accessing the WebSphere Commerce tools.
  2. From the directory WAS_installdir/logs/WC_instance_name, check the startServer.log file and ensure that WebSphere Commerce is started.
