WebSphere MQ/JMS Applet Client

Welcome to the WebSphere MQ/JMS Applet Client. Immediately below this paragraph you should see the applet.
If all you see is a grey rectangle, your browser may not be able to download the applet class files.

Applet should appear here.

Sorry, your browser does not support Java applets:

You must use a browser that can support Java applets in order to run the WebSphere MQ/JMS Applet Client.

Instructions

Pressing the button will cause the applet to attempt to connect to the named host/qmgr, send a text message, then receive the message back again, and compare the contents of the received message to the original. Note that due to security restrictions on applets you will only be able to connect to the same machine as the applet was downloaded from. If you are viewing this page from a webserver then the hostname may already be filled in for you.

Steps for setup:

  1. Setup up your host machine containing both a queue manager and webserver.
  2. Copy this HTML file and the JMSTestApplet class files into a chosen directory.
  3. Copy the following files from your MQ/JMS installation into the same directory (or alter the applet parameters to reflect a different path);
    • jms.jar
    • com.ibm.mq.jar
    • com.ibm.mqjms.jar
    • connector.jar
    • jta.jar
    • jmsapplet.properties
  4. Alter the applet parameters (in the HTML) if you wish your settings to be chosen by default.
  5. Start the QM and listener (on port 1414)
  6. Load this webpage in a web-browser containing a Java 1.3 runtime plugin. (for example Netscape 6)
