This property allows the product developer to integrate with the native AIX registry.

Specifying "True" for this property indicates that your product will be integrated with the AIX registry, meaning the native Software Vital Product Database (SWVPD) will be updated with information for your product (provided the product is installed by the root user).

If a non-root user installs your product, the native SWVPD will not be updated with your product information, regardless of the value you set here. Native SWVPD support requires root access.

Specifying "False" for this property indicates that your product information will not be included in the native SWVPD, so the AIX command used to list installed software, lslpp, will not display information about your product, and the end-user will not be able to use the AIX system management tools like SMITTY and Web-Based System Manager to uninstall or list information about your product.

It is also important to note that without native SWVPD integration, your InstallShield product information will be stored in a file located in the installer's home directory called vpd.properties. This information includes your product's version and uninstaller location, among other things. As such, care must be taken to ensure this file is not accidentally removed. If you choose "False" for this property, it is advised that you inform you customers of the importance of this file.
