Using Informix Dynamic Server 9.30 as the database

With FixPak 2 of WebSphere Application Server Version 4.0, you can now use Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) Version 9.30 as your repository or application database for WebSphere Application Server. To use IDS Version 9.30, you use existing IDS version 9.21 options.

Using IDS Version 9.30 as a repository database for the Advanced Edition

To use IDS Version 9.30 as a repository database, install IDS Version 9.30 and, when installing the WebSphere Application Server Advanced Edition, select Informix as the database.

Using IDS Version 9.30 as an application database

To use IDS Version 9.30 as an application database, set the following options:

• When using the ejbdeploy command, specify the option:

  -dbvendor INFORMIX_V92

• When generating code for deployment in the Application Assembly Tool, select Informix version 9.20 for the Database type field on the Code Generation dialog.

• When installing an enterprise application using the administrative console, regenerate the application code when prompted and select INFORMIX_V92 for the Database type field on the Code Generation dialog.
