Setting Java compiler compliance

Use the Workspace Preferences page to set the Java™ compiler compliance.

Procedure

  1. To open the workspace preferences page, select Window > Preferences > Java > Compiler. The Compiler page opens:

  2. In the Compiler compliance level field, select the compiler level that you want to use for your application. You must select the compiler level that is supported by the version of the WebSphere® Application Server to which you are deploying.
    1. If you are using WebSphere Application Server version 8.5 or later, select Java 1.6 or Java 1.7 compiler compliance.
    2. If you are using WebSphere Application Server version 7.0 or 8.0, select Java 1.6 compiler compliance.
    3. If you are using WebSphere Application Server version 7.0, select Java 1.6 compiler compliance. For more information about compiler versions that are supported by WebSphere Application Server, see Testing and publishing on a server.
