Accessing the Maven Console

Important: Applicable to Liberty, WebSphere® Application Server traditional
The Maven console displays information for troubleshooting Maven projects. To access the console, follow these steps:

Procedure

  1. Access the console view. Select Window > Show View > Console. The console view is displayed.
  2. Select the Maven console. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Open Console icon and select Maven Console. The console opens.

  3. Enable logging. By default, the Maven Console does not show anything. To see content that is logged to the Maven Console, you must install the logging feature.
    1. Select Help > Install New Software.
    2. Click Add next to Work with, enter a name for the repository and enter http://download.eclipse.org/m2e-wtp/releases/ in the location and click OK.
    3. Ensure Group items by category checkbox is selected. Under Maven Integration for Eclipse, select m2e - slf4j over logback logging (Optional). Click Next twice.

    4. Review the license. If you want to accept the license, select I accept the terms of the license agreement. Click Finish.
    5. After the software installs, restart the development workbench.
