6.10: Backing up and restoring administrative configurations

WebSphere Application Server is capable of representing its administrative configurations as XML files. The Java administrative console provides menu options for importing and exporting XML representations of the entire administrative domain. You can use it or the XMLConfig and WSCP administrative clients to regularly export full configurations as a backup measure.

It also recommended that you keep backup copies of your application files deployed on IBM WebSphere Application Server, as well as backing up the administrative database itself.
