Workarounds provided for the following issues:

i) Session disconnect call throws exception in older versions of PeopleTools (8.17)

ii) Issue with inserting child items with effective date and sequence in older versions of PeopleTools (8.17)

Release of sessions not happening properly leading to threads’ hanging.

Messages from PSMessageCollection not being retrieved.

i) For Session disconnect issue:

A new connector configuration property has been added.  The property name is

IgnoreDisconnectException.  If this is set to true, then any exception thrown by the disconnect API call on the session, will be ignored.  The default value will be ‘false’.

ii) For inserting child items with effective date and sequence:

There has been new application-text added at the business object level

      :InsertPosition = <number>

where <number> is the position, the child item will be inserted at and : is the delimiter between the app-text name-value pairs. For example, to insert the child items at 0th position, set the App-text, :InsertPosition=0

The application-text should be set at the child business object (for which the insert is to be happen) level. If set, this will override the InsAtOldestEffDtPos,  InsAtCurrentEffDtPos app-text set.

Also more tracing messages have been added in the adapter’s reconnect method call.

Whenever there is no session available for a thread, it waits but the notification that there is a session available (when another thread releases a session) never happens. This has been fixed.

Checking for the reconnectSessionOnGetFail property’s value was done in a case-sensitive manner at few places i.e. it had to be set to ‘true’ for PSMessageCollection to be retrieved, when session reconnect happens.   This has been fixed now and the case will not matter any more for the property value.
