Use this command to delete a specific data store or to delete a data
definition from a specific data store.
Requirements and Restrictions
- You must initialize TPF collection support (TPFCS) before you
enter this command.
- The TPF system must have get file storage (GFS) pools enabled
before you can use this message. Pools are not enabled until the system
is cycled to CRAS state or above.
Format
- DS
- deletes a data store.
- dsname
- is the 1- to 8-character name of the data store.
- DD
- deletes a data definition.
- ddname
- is the 1- to 32-character name of the data definition to be
deleted.
Additional Information
- Deleting a data store deletes the data store entry from the TPF system
dictionary and deletes all system collections and data definitions in that
data store. All resources used by these collections are returned to the
system and none of these collections can be reclaimed.
- You do not have to enter this command from the subsystem that
created the data store.
- Deleting a data store does not delete user collections. You must
delete all user collections before entering this command with the DS parameter
specified or the pool records used by these collections will be lost until the
next recoup is run.
- You cannot delete the TPFDB data store.
- Deleting a data definition has no effect on any collections that were
created by using the deleted data definition.
