Use this command to initialize the tape label directory records and the
tape label mask records.
Requirements and Restrictions
- Specify the DEACTIVATE parameter to deactivate the tape label directory
records and tape label mask records before you initialize them.
- In a multiple database function (MDBF) environment, you must initialize
the tape label directory records and tape label mask records for each
subsystem user.
- If you change the number of tape label directory records or tape label
mask records in an MDBF environment, you must initialize them again for all
subsystem users in the complex.
Format
- INITialize
- initializes the tape label directory records and tape label mask records,
and then activates them.
- Note:
- You must deactivate the records before you can initialize them.
- DEACtivate
- deactivates the tape label directory records and tape label mask
records.
- ACTivate
- activates the tape label directory records and tape label mask records
that were inadvertently deactivated.

deactivated first.
