5.1-PCA-0003 Verification Summary Report ---------------------------------------- This report summarizes the results of 5.1-PCA-0003 verification. External ID 5.1-PCA-0003 Internal ID 51PCA003 Fixes contained in patch ------------------------ NOTE: Unless indicated otherwise each fix listed applies to all PC Agents including all platforms and all communication protocols (TCP/IP and SPX/IPX). 31876 - The "RunOnce" registry value is not acted on if other PC Agent values exist. (platforms: NT) (protocols: TCP/IP) 35237/IX75340 - Elapsed time indicated by the PC Agent for file sends and receives is incorrect. (platforms: OS/2) (protocols: TCP/IP) 41932 - PC Agent incorrectly attempts to fully qualify paths that are already fully qualified. (protocols: SPX/IPX) 43469/IX80004 - PC Agent fails to close TCP/IP connections. (platforms: OS/2) (protocols: TCP/IP) 44348 - The wsetval command makes no mention of the '-b' switch it it's usage statement or man page. (platforms: Win95, NT) 61673 - PC Agent leaks memory upon receiving nested filepacks. 62701 - PC Agent's supervisory account is not configurable after receiving a distribution. (platforms: NetWare) (protocols: TCP/IP) IY00643 - Small intermittent PC Agent memory leak per filepack installed or uninstalled. (protocols: TCP/IP) Verification Results -------------------- Defect/APAR Test Status ----------- ---- ------ 31876 Verify that the "RunOnce" registry value entry is PASS run with the new PC Agent. Restart the agent multiple times to verify that the script is run only the first time started. 35237/IX75340 Verify that when getting and putting a file to an PASS OS/2 PC Agent, using the wgetfile and wputfile commands, will have elapsed times that are correct and not negative. 41932 Distribute a file package, to a TNWR with SPX PASS clients which contains a file with a "d=" option to override the destination directory for that file. The "d=" option should contain a fully qualified path to a directory where the file should be pushed. The dist should complete successfully and the file located in the correct directory. 43469/IX80004 Use "netstat -s" to get a list of all CLOSE_WAIT PASS state TCP/IP connections to the OS/2 machine. Use a loop to create at least 10 separate TCP/IP connections to the PC Agent. "wpcmngnode" can be used to create the connections. After connections are complete, get a new list of the connections to the OS/2 machine. The number of connections should be the same as before. 44348 Verify that the wsetval usage message now contains PASS the "-b" switch. 61673 Create nested filepacks, inner_fp and outer_fp. Put PASS inner_fp into outer_fp. Check the amount of memory the PC Agent uses. Distribute outer_fp to at least one of the PC Agents. Create a fp block for outer_fp using wcrtfpblock command. Distribute outer_fp to at least one of the PC Agents. Check the amount of memory the PC Agent is using. This amount should be the same as before the distribution. 62701 Configure a Netware PC Agent to use either bindary or PASS NDS security via the Ctrl-S at the PC Agent console. Distribute a filepack to this PC Agent. Attempt to change the password using both the original password and the original password in all capitals. IY00643 Create a profile package to distribute some files in PASS a folder on a netware PC-ManagedNode. In the NetWare Options dialog, insert a message for Only clients with locks on files. Verify the agent is running and the folder is not already created on the netware server. Load the monitor module and monitor the number of "Memory bytes in use". Distribute the filepack several times, removing the destination folder before each distribution. The memory should grow a little on the first distribution, and stay the same on any further distributions. Regression Tests ---------------- - Installed via SIS and the Tivoli Desktop. PASS - Software Distribution WTD Testsuite. PASS - PC Agent Installation and Upgrade. PASS - Netware Security. PASS NOTE: In the Framework 3.6 Planning and Installation Guide, page 10-4 states that the 4.x PC Agent can support both bindary and NDS authentication. This is not working properly. Currently the 3.x PC Agent (tivnw.nlm) only supports bindary authentication and the 4.x PC Agent (tivnw4.nlm) only supports NDS Authentication. If bindary authentication is needed on 4.x and 5.x machines, then the 3.x PC Agent can be used. - Restart/Reboot Options. PASS - Down Node PASS - Y2K Testing PASS NOTE: The PC Agent writes an activity log (tivoli.log) with the following date format: MM/DD/YY. This format indicates that in the year 2000 the year field would be written as 00. This only happens with NT/9.x/3.x PC Agents. OS/2 and NetWare PC Agents properly show the year 2000 in the log file.
