3.6-TMF-0062 Verification Summary Report ------------------------------------------ This report summarizes the results of 3.6-TMF-0062 verification. External ID 3.6-TMF-0062 Internal ID 36TMF062 Fixes contained in patch ------------------------ 68218 WINNT 3.2 Tivoli Management Agent fails logging in to a 3.6.x Gateway. 54491 + 72996 Upgrading Win95 and WinNT TMAs sometimes fails through a SunOS gateway IX83513 On a multi-NIC system, the gateway may insist on registering to an IP address other than the one desired. IX85986 Some Framework methods require authorization roles that are too "high" IX89887 Orphaned endpoints can be created after restoring database backups 69510 + 69611 Additional orphaned endpoint fixes IY01280 NT gateway dies randomly (usually during a TMA migratory login) Verification Results -------------------- Defect/APAR Test Status ----------- ---- ------ 68218 Attempt to log a version 3.2 TMA into a 3.6 gateway PASS 54491 + Manage both a Win95 and a WinNT TMA with a SunOS 72996 gateway, then upgrade both TMAs. PASS IX83513 Verify that a gateway on a multi-NIC machine can be bound to a single interface (as opposed to all interfaces). Verify that both upcalls and downcalls still work. PASS IX85986 Verify that the three methods in question all have ACLs of "any" now, and not "senior". PASS IX89887 Create orphaned TMAs by restoring a database backup, 69510 or by manually deleting the TMA from the database (using 69611 wdelep). Then verify both that the orphaned endpoints can be blocked from reentering the TMR (the original behavior) or can be allowed to reenter the TMR (the new behavior). Verify these scenarios under broadcast (isolated endpoint) conditions and using a specifed login interface. Also verify the a duplicate label will prevent the orphaned TMA from reentering the TMR. PASS IY01280 Perform a number of migratory login scenarios on NT. Verify that the gateway never dies. PASS Regression Tests ---------------- - Installation via SIS, wpatch, and the Tivoli Desktop. PASS - Verified the fix for IY00047 (DHCP on TMAs) pulled in via the superceded patch 3.6-TMF-0057. PASS - Verified the fix for 65555 (Endpoint Manager memory corruption) pulled in via the superceded patch 3.6-TMF-0052. PASS - Verified the NT MDist performance enhancement added in IX87674 and pulled in via the superceded patch 3.6-TMF-0050. PASS - Verified the Endpoint Manager fixes for 63781 and IX87373 pulled in via the superceded patch 3.6-TMF-0048. PASS - Verified the Endpoint Manager, Gateway, and wep fixes for 61486, 62632, IX87375, and IX87721 pulled in via the superceded patch 3.6-TMF-0044. PASS - Exercised the entire set of orphaned endpoint test scenarios in both positive (allow logins) and negative (disallow logins) scenarios. PASS - Exercised a subset of the login throttle scenarios (covering both the gateway and endpoint manager login throttle) PASS - Ran TMA downcall stress tests. PASS - Ran TMA upcall stress tests. PASS - Exercised a subset of the wep test scenarios. PASS - Exercised a subset of the MDist test scenarios. PASS - Exercised the entire set of TMA isolatory login test scenarios. PASS - Exercised the entire set of TMA migratory login test scenarios. PASS - Exercised a subset of the TMA upgrade test scenarios.
