3.6-TMF-0046 Verification Summary Report ---------------------------------------- This report summarizes the results of 3.6-TMF-0046 verification. External ID 3.6-TMF-0046 Internal ID 36TMF046 Fixes contained in patch ------------------------ CMVC defect 44800, 74499 Symptoms: The Tivoli Endpoint Statistics icon in taskbar does not show any statistics. CMVC defect IX87028 Symptoms: Not all BARC scripts are able to run on an OS/2 endpoint. CMVC defect IX87214, 64906 Symptom: Endpoint binaries do not match patched TMR binaries after an SIS patch install since SIS files are not updated after patches are applied. CMVC defect IX87216 Symptoms: Endpoint upgrade is unsuccessful since the TivoliAP.dll was being copied to an incorrect directory. CMVC defect 64817 Symptoms: Incorrect Patch ID displayed because the patch process was incorrectly placing the timestamp before the patch id. CMVC defect 64751 Symptoms: Netware certification was failing because of memory leaks. CMVC defect 69722, APAR IY01222 Symptoms: The upgrade of an NT endpoint would fail if the TivoliAP.dll was in use and was located on a drive different from the drive where the endpoint was installed. The error message that was displayed would indicate an error in the renaming of sys.tmp. APAR IX89436 Symptoms: If an endpoint login process is interrupted, problems can result while waiting for a gateway response. This can affect Distributed Monitoring on the endpoint. Verification Results -------------------- Defect/APAR Test Status ----------- ---- ------ 44800,74499 Installed TMA statistics icon on NT/WIN95 and verified PASS correct statistics are shown. IX87028 Ran script on OS/2 endpoint to verify that number of PASS opened file limit is increased. IX87214,64906 Installed via SIS and verified that endpoint was at the PASS correct endpoint level. Also compared to other forms of endpoint installation (install shield, winstlcf, upgrade). IX87216 Ran upgrade on an endpoint with a busy TivoliAP.dll. PASS 64817 Verified that patch information was correct after PASS installation was done. 64751 Verified the changes checked in were correct. PASS 69722,IY01222 Verified NT upgrade would succeed if TivoliAP.dll was PASS busy and on a different drive from the endpoint install. IX89436 Performed multiple interruptions during login process. PASS No increase in login time was noticed. Regression Tests ---------------- - Installed via SIS, wpatch, and the Tivoli Desktop. PASS - Exercised the entire set of orphaned endpoint test scenarios in both PASS positive (allow logins) and negative (disallow logins) scenarios. - Ran TMA downcall stress tests. PASS - Ran TMA upcall stress tests. PASS - Exercised the entire set of TMA isolation login test scenarios. PASS - Exercised the entire set of TMA migratory login test scenarios. PASS - Exercised a subset of the TMA upgrade test scenarios. PASS - Exercised a subset of the login throttle scenarios. It was later determined by development that there were not any differences between the code trees for each of the installs. No problems were noticed during verification of each of these installations.
