May 2009
Models: x3x, x4x, x6x, x7x, xAx
When you are using the IBM Diagnostics for POS Systems and Peripherals tool, the boot order on the POS system unit must be set specifically to allow a USB memory key to boot. Some system units have the needed settings in the default settings for the BIOS while other system units do not. The retailer may have changed the BIOS settings from the default for their environment. You may need to set the BIOS options for your system unit that allow a USB memory key to boot.
This document provides details on using the BIOS Setup function for each of the IBM Retail Store Solutions POS system unit types.
For system units with integrated touch screens, the process of checking and setting these settings can be done through the touch interface.
