External Files is a product action that installs files that can be found outside of the archive. Below are the properties that can be configured in the installation of the external files.
The specified files are searched for relative to the location of the installer if relative paths are specified. If a directory is found, then all of the files under that directory, including those in nested subdirectories, will be installed.
NOTES: | When entering or referencing a file with a name that includes a dollar sign ("$"), the dollar sign must be escaped by typing another dollar sign, e.g., $$ , in the File Name text box. For directories, however, this is not necessary.
If you need to install shared files on a Windows machine and manage the reference counts in the Windows registry for those files, use the Windows Shared Files bean instead of this bean. |
