Introduction to IBM Installation Manager

IBM® Installation Manager is a program that helps you install, import, update, modify, and uninstall packages on your computer. A package can be a group of components or a single component that is specifically designed for Installation Manager to install.
Installation Manager is an installation management tool that offers a number of time-saving features. Using Installation Manager, you can: Installation Manager also provides tools for managing licenses for the packages that it installs as well as for updating and modifying packages.
Note: Release notes, also called the readme file, cover release-specific information, such as problems and limitations, that became available after the product documentation was finalized. Read the release notes to learn more about the latest version of Installation Manager.

To access the release notes for Windows®, click Start > Programs > IBM Installation Manager and then click Release Notes. On other platforms, go to the documentation subdirectory in the directory where Installation Manager was installed and open the readme.html file.
