1.0 About this release

The Rational SoDA integration provides users with the ability to generate reports and documents from artifacts in either Rational Software Modeler or Rational Software Architect.

For more information, install the feature and see the information center in the product.

2.0 Installation information

For information about installing the IBM Rational SoDA Integration feature, refer to the installation instructions at http://www3.software.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/rsa/60/html/soda/install_6001.html.

2.1 Hardware requirements

There are no additional hardware requirements for installing this feature.

2.2 Software requirements

This feature can be installed for use with version 6.0 of either IBM Rational Software Architect or IBM Rational Software Modeler. Before you can install this feature you must install either IBM Rational Software Architect Fix Pack 6.0.0.1 or IBM Rational Software Modeler Fix Pack 6.0.0.1.

This feature offers support for the integration of IBM Rational SoDA for Word version 2003.06.14 or later.

Caution:  Before you can use the Rational Software Modeling SoDA Integration, you must go to the SoDA Patch Download web page at:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/search.wss?tc=SSSHLQ&rs=935&rankprofile=8&dc=D424&dtm

Select the link which indicates "Rational SoDA for Word V2003.06.14 - Rational Software Architect Integration". This web page includes a link to the SoDA RSA Integration patch and the readme file which describes the patch in detail and how to install it. The SoDA Integration will not work properly until this patch is installed.

3.0 Known limitations, problems, and workarounds

This release note includes release-specific information, such as problems and limitations that were not available until after the product documentation was finalized.

Warning for users upgrading IBM Rational SoDA Integration from version 6.0.0.003

Issues can occur when upgrading from SoDA integration version 6.0.0.003.

For users who have not yet tried to upgrade from version 6.0.0.003, proceed as follows:

  1. Start the Rational Product Updater by clicking Start > Programs > IBM Rational > Rational Product Updater.
  2. Click the Rollbacks tab.
  3. Select IBM Rational SoDA Integration 6.0.0.003 and click Roll Back Updates to uninstall the feature.
  4. After uninstalling, exit out and restart the Rational Product Updater.

If you have not yet installed the Fix Pack 6.0.0.1 do so now. Once the Fix Pack 6.0.0.1 is installed proceed to install the IBM Rational SoDA Integration version 6.0.0.1 as follows:

  1. In the Rational Product Updater click the Optional Features tab. This will cause the updater to query the update site and refresh the list of available updates.
  2. Select IBM Rational SoDA Integration version 6.0.0.1 and click Install Features.
  3. To accept the license agreement and continue the installation, click OK.


  4. After the installation is complete, the Rational Product Updater lists the installed features on the Installed Products page.

  5. Close the Rational Product Updater.

For users who have already upgraded from version 6.0.0.003 and the SoDA integration is no longer functioning as expected, proceed as follows:

  1. Start the Rational Product Updater by clicking Start > Programs > IBM Rational > Rational Product Updater.
  2. Click the Rollbacks tab.
  3. Select IBM Rational SoDA Integration 6.0.0.003.

Note: If this item has a subentry for the IBM Rational SoDA Integration for RSA 6.0.0.1, make sure both are selected.

  1. Click Roll Back Updates to uninstall the feature.
  2. After uninstalling, exit out and restart the Rational Product Updater.
  3. In the Rational Product Updater click the Optional Features tab. This will cause the updater to query the update site and refresh the list of available updates.
  4. Select IBM Rational SoDA Integration version 6.0.0.1 and click Install Features.
  5. To accept the license agreement and continue the installation, click OK.


  6. After the installation is complete, the Rational Product Updater lists the installed features on the Installed Products page.

  7. Close the Rational Product Updater.
