1.0 About this release 

This release of IBM® Rational® Robot V7.0.0.1 includes the following new features:

2.0 Installation information

This section provides information about installing Rational Robot 7.0.0.1 and using the integration with ClearQuest Test Manager.

To use the features described in IBM Rational Robot Documentation Version 7.0.0.1 - Document Supplement, do the following:
  1. Install Rational Robot 7.0. For detailed information, see the IBM Rational Robot Installation Guide from the IBM Publications Center.
  2. Install Rational Robot 7.0.0.1.

To use the integration with Rational ClearQuest Test Manager, do the following:

  1. Install Rational ClearQuest 7.0. For detailed information, see the IBM Rational ClearQuest and ClearQuest MultiSite Installation and Upgrade Guide.
  2. Install Rational Robot 7.0. 
  3. Install Rational ClearQuest 7.0.0.1.
  4. Install Rational Robot 7.0.0.1.
  5. Upgrade the Rational ClearQuest user databases to apply the new version (2.0) of the Rational ClearQuest Test Manager schema package (CQTM). For information about upgrading packages, see Administering Rational ClearQuest from the Rational ClearQuest Online Help.
  6. Install the IBM Rational Agent Controller (RAC). For more information, see Installing the Agent Controller.

Installing the Agent Controller

The IBM Rational Agent Controller is required for local and remote execution of Robot scripts from Rational ClearQuest Test Manager. The Agent Controller is included in a zip file with Rational Robot 7.0.0.1.

To install the Agent Controller, perform the following steps:

  1. Extract the contents of the Agent Controller zip file (ibmrac.win_ia32) to a directory on your computer. 
  2. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the win_ia32 subdirectory of the directory that contains the extracted contents of the zip file. 
  3. Double-click the setup.exe file to start the installation. 

For Rational Robot you also need to install a Robot plugin into the Agent Controller:

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory that contains the extracted contents of the ibmrac.win_ia32.zip file. 
  2. Extract the contents of the rac_robot.zip file into a directory on your computer and then navigate to that directory. 
  3. Copy com.ibm.rational.test.ft.robot and paste it into the plugins subdirectory of the directory where you installed the Agent Controller, for example C:\Program Files\IBM\AgentController\plugins\com.ibm.rational.test.ft.robot
