IBM Communication Controller for Linux on System z (CCL)

Information CD

IBM Communication Controller for Linux on System z (CCL) allows you to keep your business data and applications on the mainframe operating systems (IBM z/OS, z/VM , VSE/ESA, z/VSE, TPF, and z/TPF) while moving Network Control Program (NCP) functions to Linux on System z.

Communication Controller for Linux is software that runs on Linux on System z allowing customers to move NCP from the IBM 37xx Communication Controllers to the mainframe. Existing releases of CCL provide a foundation on which enterprises can help simplify their network infrastructure through its support of traditional Systems Network Architecture (SNA) functions such as SNA Network Interconnect (SNI) and an interface for vendor-written x.25 over TCP/IP (XOT) plug-ins in support of X.25 NPSI. CCL supports a SNA migration evolving toward simplified networks inclusive of IP network infrastructure and enhanced hardware independence, while continuing to operate and help leverage the value in existing SNA application portfolios.
