To install the MedSpeak/Radiology V1.4 Service Pack please do the following: On the MedSpeak/Radiology 1.3 or 1.3.1 Server: 1. Create a directory under the MedSpeak directory called SP14 2. Copy the self-extracting file MR14SP.EXE from the floppy drive into the drive X:\MEDSPEAK\SP14 (where X: is the drive MedSpeak/ Radiology was installed). Then type MR14SP.EXE. The file will expand into multiple files such as: SPCHAPP.EXE, ENGINE.EXE, SPCHAPP.INI and MR14.TXT, etc. 3. This Service Pack will be applied to the IBM MedSpeak/Radiology Server and the IBM MedSpeak/Radiology Client machines. To apply it, go to a MS-DOS prompt by clicking on Start -> Programs -> Command Prompt. 4. To update the MedSpeak/Radiology Server, type: x:\medspeak\sp14\setup sp14 [Press Enter] Where the x: is the drive letter MedSpeak/Radiology Server is installed on. Note: A. If the directory containing the Service Pack differs in name from 'sp14', substitute the directory name for both instances of 'sp14' in the above command. B. If the MedSpeak/Radiology Server also has MedSpeak/Radiology Client installed, the Client files will be installed also. 5. To update a MedSpeak/Radiology Client, type: x:\sp14\setup sp14 [Press Enter] Where the x: is the drive letter mapped to the MedSpeak/Radiology Server. Note: If the directory containing the Service Pack differs in name from 'sp14', substitute the directory name for both instances of 'sp14' in the above command. 6. The setup.bat can be run from a floppy disk, if you prefer. To do so, copy the setup.bat file to the disk. Do not copy any other files from the Service Pack to this disk. The setup.bat will copy files from the MedSpeak/Radiology Server to the MedSpeak/Radiology Clients across the network. To run from an MS-DOS prompt, type: a:\setup sp14 [Press Enter] Note: If the directory containing the Service Pack differs in name from 'sp14', substitute the directory name for both instances of 'sp14' in the above command. 7. When the installation process is complete, a message is displayed telling you the directory of the setup's log file. This log file is created on each machine on which the Service Pack has been applied. This file will show any errors which may have been encountered. If any are found, please contact IBM MedSpeak/Radiology Technical Support or your IBM MedSpeak/Radiology trained reseller. Make sure to have this log file available for support. 8. There are three new functions that we recommend you add to your SPCHAPP.INI file: 1. Microphone Timeout Timer MicTimeoutTimer = 2. Auto Logoff LogOffTimeoutTimer = 3. Multiple Microphone Volume Option MicLabel1 = MicLabel2 = MicLabel3 = MicLabel4 = See SECTIONS IV & V for descriptions of these options and an example of the SPCHAPP.INI file. *************************************************************************** SECTION III INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR Windows NT 3.51 *************************************************************************** Make sure all MedSpeak/Radiology Client machines are completely out of the application before attempting this upgrade. FUNCTION KEYS: When using the function keys to envoke MedSpeak/Radiology functions or assigning functions keys to the programmable buttons on the Philips SpeechMike, be sure NOT to use the F10 function key. This function key is a Windows NT/95 programmed function key. It use during a MedSpeak session may cause undesirable results (ie. the keyboard freezeing up). 2. MICROPHONE TIMEOUT TIMER OPTION: When setting the new MicTimeOutTimer option (see MedSpeak/Radiology V1.3 ServicePak Release Notes or the MedSpeak/Radiology V1.4 Installation and Administrators Guide) be aware that the options maximum value is1000000 (which is number of seconds without activity before the microphone automatically turns off). Setting the option greater than this value will cause the default value to take effect. 3. MULTI-LOGON DETECTION: With the newly added function to prevent multiple MedSpeak log-ons by the same user, two files have been added to the application. These files (username.userLock & username.userLockData) are located in the SHRDIR directory on the server. If a machine running MedSpeak is abnormally shutdown (ie. a crash or power failure) the user or administrator must remove the "userLock" file from the SHRDIR directory on the server machine OR just re-start the "crashed" machine before the user can initiate a new session of MedSpeak. Once the "crashed" machine is restarted, this file will be automatically removed from the system and the user can log-on to any MedSpeak machine. 4. LASTTEXT.DOC: A file called LastText.doc located in the x:\MedSpeak\Radiology\Client\Radiology directory has been added. The report, a user is working on, is saved to this file everytime: 1. Saves as Incomplete 2. Saves as Preliminary 3. Accepts and Signs 4. Prints If a user experiences a system crash while working on a report, the report should now available to be retrieved from this file. *************************************************************************** SECTION V DEFAULT SPCHAPP.INI ENTRIES *************************************************************************** Below is a copy of the SpchApp.ini file in its original form, with all comments and default settings. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [Main] ;;MicTimeoutTimer = ;; specify the number of seconds of idle time that will cause the microphone ;; to be automatically turned off. ;; To disable this feature simply set a very large time. for example, ;; 1 million seconds (MicTimeoutTimer = 1000000) is over 250 hours...
