SWG imperative: Integrate self-help & support information
Note: This is the final version of the standalone support information plug-in. We are in the process of merging the contents of this package with related self-help guidelines and templates to create a comprehensive Troubleshooting Kit for product teams. If you would like to participate in developing the Troubleshooting Kit V2 (TKV2), please contact Robert Bunn/Raleigh/IBM.
This readme file describes the support information plug-in package that is available for download from the SWG UT infocenter. A support information plug-in is a documentation feature that provides users with access to self-help resources from within an Eclipse information center. The support information download package includes a sample plug-in, as well as help for product teams.
Before you create a support information plug-in for your information center, be aware of the following:
- The plug-in developer is typically an ID writer who owns troubleshooting content for the offering. The writer collaborates with a support representative, such as a knowledge engineer, who has content responsibilities.
- Between them, the writer and support engineer must be familiar with developing document plug-ins, and understand how to publish content using the Document Control Facility (DCF).
- The writer customizes the boilerplate topics provided in the sample plug-in, and for having the plug-in contents translated.
This package contains Eclipse documentation plug-ins, best viewed in the Eclipse help system. You can download and install the latest version of the help system from UA Central: http://w3-03.ibm.com/ux/site.nsf/u/publish/779.
To install and use the plug-ins in this package, complete the following steps:
