Limitations of File Manager® Plug-in

In addition to any restrictions or limitations imposed by File Manager®, the File Manager® plug-in has the following limitations and restrictions.

Member names

Only member names that meet the following requirements are supported:

Members with names which do not meet all these requirements may be visible in the File Manager® plug-in, but are not supported for editing, browsing, used as a template, or for use with any of the utility functions

HFS File names

File names for which one or more of the following apply are explicitly not supported:

CICS Resources

CICS Systems with a colon in their name are not supported. Similarly, CICS resources which are on a CICS System with a colon in its name are not supported.

DB2 Object Locations

Use of DB2's location functionality is not supported. To work with a specific DB2 location, make that location available as a DB2 subsystem. Consult the File Manager® for z/OS® documentation for information on how to do this.

It is not possible to copy from one DB2 subsystem to another.

DB2 Object Owners and Names

DB2 objects with a non-standard SQL identifier for owner and/or name may cause unexpected behaviour, and may not be recognised as valid input. To be considered a Standard SQL identifier, the following must be true: Trailing spaces in owner & name are explicitly not supported.

Templates

Only templates which are members of PDS or Library data sets are supported.
