Instructions for IBM(R) OmniFind(TM) Enterprise Edition, Version 8.4 Hot Fix 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IBM OmniFind Enterprise Edition, Version 8.4 Hot Fix 2 includes an installation program to upgrade version 8.4 or version 8.4 Hot Fix 1 systems to the latest hot fix level. Hot Fix 2 addresses the following APARs: APARs addressed in this Hot Fix: --------------------------------- IC51697 The OmniFind Enterprise Edition search portlet becomes unavailable when you use the Category Tree page This hot fix solves a problem that caused a "portlet is currently not available" error message to be displayed when you select or expand a node in the category tree of the search portlet. IC51746 A communication problem prevents the stopccl script from exiting This hot fix solves a communication problem that prevented the client that invoked the stopccl script from receiving a response from the CCL server. IC51747 Results from Domino(R) sources are not returned for certain users when document-level security is enabled This hot fix solves a problem that caused an exception to be returned when group memberships were checked in the ACL. IC51486 A problem in n-gram fuzzy search logic does not return the expected results This hot fix solves a problem that caused unexpected results to be returned when an n-gram fuzzy search requested terms that occur infrequently in a document. IC51951 No response is returned from a call to the stopccl script This hot fix solves a problem that caused the client that invoked the stopccl script to indefinitely wait for a status response from the CCL server. IC51949 An SQL error is returned when the My Profile page is loaded in the OmniFind Enterprise Edition search application This hot fix solves a problem that caused an SQL error to be returned when the user credentials string was very large. Installation instructions for Windows(R) ---------------------------------------- IMPORTANT: You must stop the enterprise search system completely before starting the installation process. 1. On the index server, log in as the enterprise search administrator. 2. At the command prompt, enter "esadmin stop" to stop the enterprise search system. 3. Select Control Panel->Services, and stop the "IBM WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Edition” service. 4. Log in as a Windows administrator and run the executable install-win32.exe to install the hot fix. Note: The installation program prompts you for the "data directory" of the current installation. Be sure to specify the correct value. 5. For a multiple server installation, run the steps 3 - 4 on all of your enterprise search servers. Note 1: If security is enabled on the search servers, the program prompts you for the WebSphere Application Server global security user ID and password. Note 2: After the search servers are restarted, ensure that the WebSphere Application Server AppServers 'server1' and 'ESSearchServer' are running. 6. On all servers, log in as the enterprise search administrator, select Control Panel->Services, and start the "IBM WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Edition” service. 7. On the index server, enter "esadmin start" to start the enterprise search system. Uninstall instructions for Windows ---------------------------------- 1. Log in as the enterprise search administrator. For a multiple server installation, log in on any of the enterprise search servers. 2. Change to the uninstall directory, which is normally located at the installation root directory, and run the uninstall program, uninstall.exe. For Hot Fix 2, the location is %ES_INSTALL_ROOT%\_uninst_8.4.0.102 3. The installation program prompts you to specify what you want to remove: - You can uninstall the most recent hot fix or fix pack (or) - You can uninstall OmniFind Enterprise Edition (WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Edition) Note: If security is enabled on a search server, the program prompts you for the WebSphere Application Server global security user ID and password. 4. The results of the uninstallation program are displayed. Review the information and then click 'Finish'. 5. Restart the server. 6. For a multiple server installation, repeat these steps on the other enterprise search servers. Installation instructions for AIX(R) and Linux(R): -------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT: You must stop the enterprise search system completely before starting the installation process. 1. On the index server, log in as the enterprise search administrator. 2. At the command prompt, enter "esadmin stop" to stop the enterprise search system. 3. At the command prompt, enter "stopccl.sh" to stop the common communication server. 4. Log in as the root user, and run the executable to install the hot fix: install-aix.bin or install-linux.bin. Note: The installation program prompts you for the "data directory" of the current installation. Be sure to specify the correct value. 5.
