This README file contains information about installing Interim Fix 1 for IBM DB2 Change Management Expert. 1.1 ENHANCEMENTS None. 1.2 CORRECTED KNOWN PROBLEMS The following APAR is corrected by this Interim Fix: PK55711 (PMR93815) - When a LOB column is changed from NOT LOGGED to LOGGED, DB2 Change Management Expert will generate the unload and load commands with the correct LOB options and avoid data loss. 2.0 PREREQUISITES To install Interim Fix 1, you must already have DB2 Change Management Expert Version 1 Release 1 Modification 1 Fix Pack 2 installed. Note: Interim Fix 1 cannot be backed out after it is installed. DB2 Change Management Expert has hardware and software requirements (refer to DB2 Change Management Expert, Version 1 Release 1 Modification 1 Fix Pack 2 Readme for details) 3.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Important: DB2 Change Management Expert Version 1 Release 1 Modification 1 Fix Pack 2 has to be installed before Interim Fix 1 is installed. 3.1 Installation instructions on a Windows 2000, Windows 2003, or Windows XP system To install DB2 Change Management Expert Interim Fix 1 on a Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP system, complete the following steps: 1. Download the compressed zip file for Interim Fix 1 from http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/data/studio/cme/cme112.ifix/cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001/zips/ to your hard drive. 2. Extract the downloaded files into a temporary folder, for example, c:\mytemp. A subdirectory (called cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001) gets created. The cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001 directory contains the files that are required to update DB2 Change Management Expert. 3. Start IBM Installation Manager by clicking Start -> All Programs -> IBM Installation Manager -> IBM Installation Manager. 4. If IBM Installation Manager automatically detects that an updated version of Installation Manager is available: a. Click OK when you are prompted to install the update. b. Wait for the update to be completed and for IBM Installation Manager to be refreshed. 5. After IBM Installation Manager is updated, click File -> Preference and add the directory path for cme112.ifix001_1.1.2_001 as a repository. For example, c:\mytemp\CME112.ifix001_1.1.2.001\repository.config. 6. Click Update Packages. 7. IBM DB2 Change Management Expert is the package group for this installation, click Next. 8. On the page that shows the package updates, click Next. 9. On the summary page, verify the installation information. Click Update to begin installing DB2 Change Management Expert Interim Fix 1 on your system. 10. When the installation completes, click Finish. Before you click Finish, you can click View the Log to see the installation details. 11. Close IBM Installation Manager. IBM Installation Manager generates a log file and uses a date and timestamp to name the file. You can view the log file, which is in xml format, at: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\logs directory yyyymmdd_hhmm.xml 3.2 Installation instructions on a Windows Vista system To install DB2 Change Management Expert Interim Fix 1 on a Windows Vista system, complete the following steps: 1. Download the compressed zip file for Interim Fix 1 from http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/data/studio/cme/cme112.ifix/cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001/zips/ to your hard drive. 2. Extract the downloaded files into a temporary folder, for example, c:\mytemp. A subdirectory (called cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001) gets created. The cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001 directory contains the files that are required to update DB2 Change Management Expert. 3. Start IBM Installation Manager as administrator by clicking Start -> All Programs -> IBM Installation Manager -> IBM Installation Manager. Then, right-click and select Run as Administrator. 4. If IBM Installation Manager automatically detects that an updated version of Installation Manager is available: a. Click OK when you are prompted to install the update. b. Wait for the update to be completed and for IBM Installation Manager to be refreshed. 5. After IBM Installation Manager is updated, click File -> Preference and add the directory path for CME112 as a repository. For example, c:\mytemp\CME112.ifix001_1.1.2.001\repository.config. 6. Click Update Packages 7. IBM DB2 Change Management Expert is the package group for this installation, click Next. 8. On the page that shows the package updates, click Next. 9. On the summary page, verify the installation information. Click Update to begin installing DB2 Change Management Expert Interim Fix 1 on your system. 10. When the installation of the Fix Pack completes, click Finish. Before you click Finish, you can click View the Log to see the installation details. 11. Close IBM Installation Manager. You must have root authority to complete the installation of DB2 Change Management Expert Interim Fix 1. To install DB2 Change Management Expert Interim Fix 1 on a Linux system, complete the following steps: 1. Download the compressed zip file for Interim Fix 1 from http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/data/studio/cme/cme112.ifix/cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001/zips/ to your hard drive. 2. Extract the downloaded files into a temporary folder, for example, /tmp. A subdirectory (called cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001) gets created. The cme112.ifix001_1.1.2.001 directory contains the files that are required to update DB2 Change Management Expert. 3. Verify that X applications (such as xclock&) can use the desired display: i. Show the current setting of the DISPLAY variable by typing: echo $DISPLAY ii. Export the display to the workstation where the X server is running by typing: export DISPLAY=hostname:0 iii. Verify that X applications can display correctly by typing: xclock& iv. Close the display. 4. Start IBM Installation Manager by changing to the eclipse directory where Installation Manager is installed (the default is /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse) and typing "./launcher. 5. If IBM Installation Manager automatically detects that an updated version of Installation Manager is available: a. Click OK when you are prompted to install the update. b. Wait for the update to be completed and for IBM Installation Manager to be refreshed. 6. After IBM Installation Manager is updated, click File -> Preference and add the directory path for cme112.ifix001_1.1.2_001) as a repository. For example, /tmp/cme112.ifix001_1.1.2_001/repository.config. 7. Click Update Packages. 8. IBM DB2 Change Management Expert is the package group for this installation, click Next. 9. On the page that shows the package updates, click Next. 10. On the summary page, verify the installation information. You can view the log file, which is in xml format, at: /var/ibm/InstallationManager/logs directory yyyymmdd_hhmm.xml After you install Interim Fix 1 on a Linux system, the splash screen that is displayed when DB2 Change Management Expert is started might not be updated. This will not affect the operation of DB2 Change Management Expert. To have the updated splash screen displayed, run DB2 Change Management Expert one time with the command /opt/IBM/CME11/eclipse -product com.ibm.dbtools.cme.product.chx -clean. 4.0 CUSTOMIZATION INSTRUCTIONS For complete instructions on how to customize and use DB2 Change Management Expert, see the DB2 Change Management Expert for Multiplatforms User's Guide. 5.0 RESTRICTIONS -Installation When you install DB2 Change Management Expert, you are prompted to select your workspace directory. The default workspace directory is /workspace, where is the directory where you installed DB2 Change Management Expert. Select a workspace directory that is outside of the directory where you installed DB2 Change Management Expert as this will ensure that the installation directory will be deleted if you uninstall DB2 Change Management Expert. This will also enable you to re-install DB2 Change Management Expert in the same directory. When you install DB2 Change Management Expert on a Linux platform, the installation program might display %Offering.name instead of the DB2 Change Management Expert name. This will not affect the installation of DB2 Change Management Expert.
