The session control parameters affect two distinct features of a CICSPlex® SM session: they determine which CAS you connect to when you sign on to CICSPlex SM, and they control the extended diagnostic mode (XDM).
-------------------------- SESSION CONTROL PARAMETERS ----------------------- COMMAND ===> Subsystem ID ===> CAS3 (Co-ordinating Address Space subsystem ID) Confirm Parms ===> NO (Display parameter confirmation panel, Yes/no) XDM Mode ===> NO (Execute session in diagnostic mode, Yes/No) Press END to save updates or HELP for more information.
In the default user profile, the CAS subsystem ID is "CPSM". You should replace this value with the identifier of the CAS on the MVS™ image from which you are using CICSPlex SM. If you do not know the name of the CAS to which you want to be connected, ask your system administrator for assistance.
When you next select option 1 or 2 from the CICSPlex System Manager entry panel, CICSPlex SM establishes a connection to the CAS, and from the CAS to a CMAS managing the CICSplex that is to be the context of the session. If you decide, during a CICSPlex SM session, that you want to identify a different CAS, you can return to this panel and overtype the CAS subsystem ID. To establish a connection to the new CAS, however, you must end the current CICSPlex SM session by exiting from ISPF and then start a new session.
