JRNLNAMD - Journal name details

The JRNLNAMD view shows detailed information about a system or general log.

Availability

The JRNLNAMD view is available for systems running the CICS® TS for OS/390.

Access

Issue command:
JRNLNAMD journal sysname

journal
is the 1- to 8-character name of a journal.

sysname
is the name of the CICS system where the journal is located. The CICS system must be within the current scope.

Action commands

Table 155 shows the action commands you can issue from the JRNLNAMD view. The overtype field on the JRNLNAMD view is shown in Table 156.

Primary command Line command Description
DiSCard DSC Discards the journal name from the CICS system where it is installed.
FLUsh FLU Writes out the contents of the log buffers to the log stream. The journal is not closed.
INItialize INI Disconnects the journal from its log stream. The journal can be reopened by a journal write.
n/a SET Sets a journal name attribute according to the new value you specify in an overtype field (see Table 156).
Note:
The value you specified in the Require Set field on the CICSPlex® SM entry panel determines whether or not you must use the SET command when you overtype a field.
