Workload management definitions and their related views

Start of changeYou can use the workload management administration views using the Web User Interface (WUI) or end user interface (EUI) to define a variety of workload management attributes. Figure 8 provides an overview of the workload management views from the perspective of the CICSPlex® SM object model. In addition to these views, you can use the views described in Table 5 to display information about and manage active workloads. In the EUI you can also display a visual map of your workload management definitions by using the MAP action command, as described in CICSPlex SM Administration.End of change

Figure 9 illustrates the relationship between the components of a workload in a CICSplex and the views used to establish the workload.

Figure 8. Views for creating workload management objects and associations
The diagram is a pictorial representation of the views used to establish and maintain a workload and their functions. All the views shown here are described in Table 3 with the exception of the CICSSYS view which defines and maintains system definitions and specifies whether the CICS system is to act as a routing region or a target region for dynamic routing, and the CICSGRP view which defines and maintains CICS system group definitions.

Figure 9. The relationship between a workload and the workload management views
The diagram shows a CICSplex, its associated workload definitions and the views used to maintain them. Two MVS systems, System A and System B are shown. System A has a CMAS, EYUCMS1A and four MASs, EYUMAS1A (a TOR), EYUMAS2A (an AOR), EYUMAS3A (an AOR) and EYUMAS4A (a FOR). System B has a CMAS, EYUCMS1B and a MAS, EYUMAS1B (an AOR). Sysplex EYUPLX01 contains all the MASs from both systems. System Group EYUCSG01 contains all three AORs (across both systems) and the FOR.. EYUMAS1B is also contained in system group EYUCSG05. EYUCMS1A is the maintenance point for CICSplex EYUPLX01. There is a connection between the two CMASs. The definitions are created and maintained by the following views: WLMSPEC defines workload specification EYUWMS03 and Target Scope EYUCSG01. WLMSCOPE associates Routing Scope EYUMAS1A with workload specification EYUWMS03. WLMGROUP defines and maintains EYUWMG02. WLMINSPC associates workload group EYUWMG02 with workload specification EYUWMS03. WLMDEF defines and maintains workload definition EYUWMD02. WLMINGRP associates workload definition EYUWMD02 with workload group EYUWMG02. TRANGRP defines and maintains transaction group EYUWMT01. DTRINGRP associates transactions PAY1 and PAY2 with transaction group EYUWMT01.

Table 4 shows the views you can use to create workload management definitions. It also indicates the information you can display and the actions you can perform using these views. To access these views in the Web User Interface these views click Administration views -->Workload manager administration views.
