from IBM's Research division
working in the excessively center

of suffering from spring allergies today so the voice recognition may not be perfect

ViaScribe what it does

it takes speech and slides as input and automatically creates captions that are
synchronized with the slides
as you see in this demo
the transcribed audio and slides are automatically saved in various formats
for later use
such as streaming

you are actually viewing a saved version of the synchronized output at ViaScribe
automatically created

this is a screen shot of the ViaScribe user interface
All I had to do
was type in the file name
of the PowerPoint presentation that I am using

ViaScribe understands the voice commands
to control the advancing of the slides
ViaScribe comes with an editor that my assistant can use to correct the text after is
captured
if that's necessary
to this demo has not been corrected
just show you how well voice recognition has advanced

here is a professor using ViaScribe in the classroom
with ViaScribe a professor can lecture
as he talks his speech appears as text on the screen
in real time

this did who is deaf is sitting in front of the Rome

as you can see many other students are looking at the screen as well

many students find value in being able to read the text during the lecture
and after when it is saved to the web

all you would get from ordinary speech recognition
is a bunch of text
with no line breaks
no highlighting
of synchronization with slides

and using the quality and turn around standards set by your organization
