INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR AN IBM NETWORKING PREVIEW

Licensing:  Do not install this software until you have read and agreed
to comply with the terms listed in the IBM Networking Preview License
Agreement that is included with this documentation.

System Requirements

-IBM OS/2 (TM) 2.1 or Microsoft Windows (TM) 3.1 -486 IBM PS/2 or
compatible (386 performance is slow) -VGA monitor -Keyboard and mouse -8
MB RAM or higher -4 MB of free hard disk space

These fonts should already be installed on your PC

-Times New Roman (Regular, Bold, and Bold Italic) 10 point - 54 point
-MS Sans Serif (Regular, and Bold) 8 point - 12 point


Installation

1. If you have not already done so, start windows or WIN-OS/2.  Windows
users:  Type WIN at the DOS prompt.  OS/2 users:  First double-click on
the OS/2 System Folder, then double-click on the Command Prompts folder,
and finally double-click on the WIN-O S/2 Full Screen icon.

2. Insert the IBM Networking Preview Disk 1 into your diskette drive.

3. The IBM TCP/IP V2.1.1 for DOS Preview is designed to offer hypertext
linking, you must install all previews in the same directory on your
hard drive.

Select one of the options below:

-If this is the first previews installed on your hard drive:  a. From
Program Manager, open the FILE pull-down menu.  b. Select Run c. Enter
A:SETUP d. Select OK (or press ENTER) to begin the installation

-If you are installing this preview into the same directory as another
preview:  a. From Program Manager, open the FILE pull-down menu b.
Select RUN c. Enter C:\INSPREV\TBOOK A:INSTALL from the Command Line
(assuming that C:\INSPREV\ is the path to any previously installed
previews) d. Select OK (or press ENTER) to begin the installation.

4. Select Continue to use the default installation path.  Otherwise,
enter an alternate path and then select Continue.

NOTE:  If you have installed other IBM Networking Previews, you should
install this preview in the same directory.

5. When prompted, insert each of the IBM TCP/IP for DOS Preview Disks in
your diskette drive and select OK to continue.  After all of the files
are installed, a new program group with an icon for the Preview will
appear and the IBM TCP/IP for DOS Preview Setup dialog box will be
displayed.  Select OK to end the installation.

6. You can start the preview by double-clicking on the Preview icon.
