When currency databases are migrated, some of the database settings are not set, such as the number of dimensions, the currency time, and the currency category.. Once the outlines and databases are migrated, these settings will be updated.
Users and groups can be migrated without applications and databases, but if the users or groups are added before the applications and databases, their association with those applications and databases must be manually updated.
Existing applications, databases, filters, users, and groups on the destination server are not overwritten or migrated. If they already exist, they will not be re-created.
When migrating from one OLAP version to another (i.e., from OLAP 1.1 to OLAP 7.1), the Security Migration Tool will create a data file that contains the source server data, and use that data file to migrate the data onto the destination server. The user must have write permission on the directory where the Security Migration Tool is stored, and there must be sufficient space within it for creating the data file.
The user must have supervisor privileges on the OLAP destination server.
