API client hardware and software requirements

The system requirements of the API client development platforms on Windows and UNIX platforms are described in Table 7.

Solaris Operating System version Sun Solaris Operating System 7 and 8 (SUN OS 5.7, and 5.8) on Sun SPARC or ULTRASPARC computers

RAM
  • 64 MB RAM (128 or more MB recommended) for Windows 2000, Windows NT, or Windows 98
  • Physical memory: 64 MB (256 MB recommended) for AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris

Swap space: At least two times the amount of physical memory is recommended when physical memory is less than .5 GB. Contact your system administrator or hardware vendor for optimum swap configuration.

Disk Space
  • 15 MB for 32-bit DB2 OLAP Server API on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, on Pentium
  • 10 MB for AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris
