    INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

    To install the PTF in AIX, you need 60 megabytes of free disk space in 
    /usr. 
 
 
    INSTALLING PTF U454574 
    ______________________
 
    To install the DB2 UDB Text Extender PTF in AIX, 
    you need to perform the following steps:

    1. Ensure you are active as the root user.
    
    2. cd to a read/writable directory.

    3. Download u454574.pkg.Z from the ftp site

    4. uncompress u454574.pkg.Z

    5. Stop DB2 and the DB2 extenders if they are running.
 
    6. Issue "slibclean" to clean out all cached copies of the shared libraries.
 
    7. Use smit to install the package
