CAUSE ===== The icon may be hidden behind another icon or it may have been deleted. RESOLUTION ========== To determine if the icon is hidden, use the right mouse button to click an empty area on the desktop, and then click Auto Arrange on the menu that appears. If the icon does not appear, do the following: MSN 1.x ------- 1. Click Start, point to Programs, and check to see if MSN is listed. 2. If MSN is listed on the Programs menu, create a shortcut on the desktop to MSN. To do so, follow these steps: a. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar. b. On the Start Menu Programs tab, click Advanced. c. Double-click the Programs folder. d. Use the right mouse button to drag the MSN shortcut to the desktop, and then click Create Shortcut Here. 3. If MSN is not listed on the Programs menu, remove and then reinstall MSN. To do so, follow these steps: a. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs. b. On the Windows Setup tab, click the MSN check box to clear it. c. Click OK. d. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs. e. On the Windows Setup tab, click the MSN check box to select it. f. Click OK. MSN 2.x ------- 1. Hold down the Shift key and insert the MSN CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders. 3. In the Named box, type "Newcore.exe" (without the quotations), click the CD-ROM drive in the Look In box, and then click Find Now. 4. In the list of found files, double-click Newcore.exe. 5. Repeat steps 2-3 to find the Coreui.exe file. 6. In the list of found files, double-click Coreui.exe.
