The package is included on the TSM Client cd for convenience. For additional information about this package, please goto the following website: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24012187 Installing the Client --------------------- To install the client images, do the following as root: 1) Download the TSM client images to your workstation. The default install directory for SMIT is /usr/sys/inst.images, but you may put the install images in any directory you choose. You *must* download the images in binary! NOTE: The standard install images contain US English support only. If you require language support for other than US English, be sure to place those images in the same directory as the main client install file and select the corresponding "msg" install image for your language. NOTE: When you have downloaded the client package, the file may be of a ".tar.Z" extension. You can uncompress and extract the files in this archive by running the following command: "zcat .tar.Z | tar -xvf -" 2) Run "inutoc " to create the ".toc" table of contents file in the install directory (see #1 above). 3) From the AIX command line: smitty install [Enter] Select: Install and Update Software [Enter] Select: Install and Update from ALL Available Software [Enter] Select: INPUT device / directory for software /usr/sys/inst.images (Directory that installation images reside) or /dev/cd0 (For CD-ROM install) [Enter] Choose Tivoli Storage Manager filesets that you wish to install [Enter] Select options you wish (usually default options are fine) [Enter] The install process will place the TSM files in the appropriate locations.
