To work on activities, you modify source files and test your modifications.
If your project is enabled for Rational® ClearQuest®,
you might have to enter information in your change request management
system to communicate your progress.
Checking Out and Modifying Source Files
When you want to modify files that are under ClearCase source
control, you must check the files out, making sure to assign
your revisions to the appropriate activities.
Canceling a Checkout
If you do not want to make changes to a checked out file, you can
cancel a checkout.
Viewing Metadata
When working with checkouts, you might find it helpful to view
metadata information for elements.
Indicating Your Progress
If your project is enabled for Rational ClearQuest,
you can track your progress on an activity.
Working On Multiple Activities
You can set your view to one activity at a time, but you can keep
multiple undelivered activities in your stream. Thus, you can work on an activity,
set and work on a second activity, and then set and return to working on the
first activity.
Searching for Checkouts, Hijacks, and View Private Files
Use the ClearCase Search
window to search ClearCase views
for resources in various states (checked-out, hijacked, or view-private).
You can perform common source control operations on the resulting artifacts.
