Indicating Your Progress

If your project is enabled for Rational® ClearQuest®, you can track your progress on an activity.

To indicate your progress:
  1. Modify information in Rational ClearQuest.

Your Rational ClearQuest activities might include fields for keeping additional information. For example, an activity record form might contain an Attachments page to link to supporting documents written in other applications. The form may also contain fields to describe defect symptoms. Adding or modifying such information does not change the activity's state or have any effect on the corresponding activity in your stream.

  2. Close activities when you are finished with them.

Your project manager might have set up a policy for your project that closes activities in Rational ClearQuest when you deliver them. If the policy is not in effect for your project, close your activity when you have completed the associated work (which is usually when you deliver it).

Completed activities do not appear on your to-do list, but they remain in your stream and appear in your stream properties even after you deliver them.

  3. Follow any schema-specific procedures your project manager requires.

You might need to complete one of the following tasks, even if your project is enabled for Rational ClearQuest:

    • Reassign an activity to another team member.
    • Delete an activity.
Note: You might need to delete a ClearQuest activity if a ClearQuest record is linked with a ClearQuest activity, and the activity contains versions in its change set.
