March 1, 1999 MAIN.CPL in Warp 3 and Warp 4 can cause strange clock behavior when using the Date/Time Program Object of the WINOS2 Control Panel. Symptom is the day changing from February 28 to March 1 in the year 2000. The code did not recognize that 2000 is a Leap Year. This problem is being tracked by IBM under APAR PJ12296. To see if your system has this problem, do the following: Problem Verification: 1. Shutdown and reboot your system. 2. Close all running applications since you will be changing the clock. 2. Immediately open an OS/2 Window or Fullscreen session. 3. Open the Date/Time program in the Control Panel. 4. Set the year to 00. 5. Set the month to 02. 6. Set the day to 25. 7. Using the arrow, increment the day to 26, 27, 28, 29. If the day goes to 1 instead of 29 you have the problem and need the MAIN.CPL fix contained in Warp 3 Fixpak 40 (when released), Warp 4 Fixpak 10 (when released) or separately in this JR12296.ZIP file. In either case, reset the clock to the correct date and time after the test. To resolve this problem, replace MAIN.CPL in the OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM directory of your boot drive with the one from JR12296.ZIP in this directory. Instructions: 1. Download JR12296.ZIP in binary 2. Unzip JR12296.ZIP (Use UNZIP or PKUNZIP) ==> 12-09-98 6:02p 147616 0 main.cpl 3. Close all running WINOS2 sessions. 3. Rename \OS2\MDOS\SYSTEM\MAIN.CPL MAIN.CPO on your boot drive 4. Copy MAIN.CPL to \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM on your boot drive Verify the problem is fixed following the steps outlined under "Problem Verification" above.
