09/05/2000 Warp 4 FixPak XR_M014 Updates : Zip file, KRNL0905.ZIP, contains fixes to JR14866 (hang at the beginning of the boot process with the white blob still showing), PJ27341 (hangs, traps, and application problems using the DosQProcStatus/DosQuerySysState APIs), and JR14875 (trap/IPE on boot with pre-pentium systems). Also contains fixes to a couple of non-APARed items that caused problems in previous post-FP14 kernel releases. This Kernel Update fixes a RESERVEDDRIVELETTER problem. Following the instructions below to install these fixes: 1. Open an OS/2 window. 2. Change directory to the root drive where OS/2 is installed. Ex. C:\ 3. Make a temporary directory. Ex. MD C:\TEMP 4. Download and unzip file, KRNL0905.ZIP, into the TEMP directory. 5. Change directory to the root drive where OS/2 Warp 4 and FixPak XR_M014 are installed. Ex. C:\ 6. Enter command "attrib -r -s -h os2krnl", press the Enter key; unhide OS2KRNL file for replacement. 7. Enter command "copy os2krnl os2krnl.sav",press the Enter key; save a copy of OS2KRNL file. 8. Enter command "copy c:\temp\os2krnl ; copy OS2KRNL file to the root drive. 9. Enter command "copy c:\temp\os2krnl.sym c:\os2\pdpsi\pmdf\warp4", press the Enter key; save OS2KRNL.SYM file (use for debugging/dumps only). 10. Enter command "attrib +r +s +h OS2KRNL", press the Enter key; hide the OS2KRNL file. 11. Copy the trace files (*.tdf) from TEMP directory (OS2\SYSTEM\TRACE) to OS2\SYSTEM\TRACE directory on your Warp 4 system. Note: Before copying the Trace files (*.TDF), rename the ones being replaced in directory OS2\SYSTEM\TRACE first. Ex. Enter command "ren c:\os2\system\trace\krnlr*.tdf krnlr*.tds" Ex. Enter command "ren c:\os2\system\trace\os2krnlr.tdf os2krnlr.tds" 12. Delete the TEMP directory. 13. Reboot system Note: This fix will be superseded by the next Warp 4 FixPak.
