Installing Corrective Service 1) Insert the System Information Tool Corrective Service diskette into diskette drive A. 2) Type COPY A:\*.* _x_:\OS2\APPS where _x_ is the letter of the hard drive which contains OS/2. 3) Change the active drive and directory so that _x_:\OS2\APPS (where _x_ is the letter of the hard drive which contains OS/2) is the current drive and directory. 4) At the command prompt, type SYSINFO and then press Enter. This will extract all updated files from the self-extracting compressed file into the current directory. 5) Reboot your system so that the changes can take effect. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- II. List of Fixes ****************** Corrective Service Version 1.1 *********************** 1) Changed version number on logo screen to 3.02. 2) Corrected the calculation and reporting of logical disk sizes of greater than 2 Gigabytes. List of Added Support 1) Added support for OS/2 for SMP. As a result, a new field appears in the Model and Processor Information which reports the Number of Processors in the system. 2) Added support for identifying the recent IBM PC 300 and 700 series machines. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IV. Known Problems and Limitations Corrective Service Version 1.1 1) Although a fix has been made to the processor detection logic, it may or may not provide a change to your particular situation. In reporting these problems, it would be helpful if you provided the following to the support teams: a. Processor type it should be b. Machine type / model c. What BIOS level and BIOS type is on your machine? Corrective Service Version 1.0 1) System Information Tool reports some 486 processors as 386 processors. We are working on a fix for this at present, and this fix will be made available in a patch in the near future. 2) Due to problems with the device driver for Sound Blaster-attached CD-ROM drives (SBCD2.ADD) that shipped with Warp, System Information Tool would sometimes crash the system when it was gathering the CD-ROM drive information on systems that used this driver. The new System Information Tool executable will check whether the SBCD2.ADD is in use, and whether the version of SBCD2.ADD is the version that shipped with Warp. If it is, then System Information Tool will not make the unsupported calls that cause the system to crash. As a result, however, CD-ROM information will be rather limited. NOTE: An updated SBCD2.ADD driver that fixes this problem is available via FTP from ftp-os2.cdrom.com. The file (CDDRVR.ZIP) is found in the os2/warp/patches directory, and it contains a variety of new CD-ROM drivers for use with OS/2 2.1 and OS/2 Warp. If you are using the _new_ SBCD2.ADD, System Information Tool will be able to gather considerably more information about your CD-ROM drive. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- V.
