1.0  Overview

  1.1    This update includes the BIOS and firmware for the LSI 1064e planar controller.

         - The currently running device driver for the LSI 1064e controller must be at 
           least level 1.25.10.07 in order to run this update.

2.0  Installation and setup instructions
________________________________________
     
  This package consists of two types of diskette image, both of which can be used to create a DOS-based, 
  bootable diskette.

  2.1 Creating the diskette
  -------------------------

  Creating the diskette under Windows
    1) Insert a blank diskette into your diskette drive when prompted.
    2) Run the executable file (.exe) by double clicking the file icon.
    3) A GUI diskette utility will appear.  Select 'OK'.

  Creating the diskette under Linux
    **CAUTION** Use of the 'dd' command will cause the target device to be overwritten with the data from
    the image file.  It is possible to overwrite important data, such as your boot partition.  Ensure that 
    you specify the correct target floppy device.
    
    1) Insert a blank diskette into your diskette drive.
    2) In the same directory where you saved the .img files, type 
         'dd if=ibm_fw_mptsas_hs21-1.20_dos_32-64.img of=/dev/<device>'
       where <device> is your floppy device, usually fd0 for an IDE floppy or sd* for a USB floppy.

  2.2 Updating the BIOS and firmware
  ----------------------------------
  
  To update the BIOS and firmware for the onboard LSI 1064e controller: 
  
    1) Insert the update diskette, which was created in the previous step, into the diskette drive of the 
       target system.  
    2) Reboot the system.
    3) Wait for the update process to complete.  ** DO NOT power down the system, or in any other way halt
       the update during this time.
    4) Reboot your system once the update has completed.
