image to your PC or to a network server to install the software
on the switch.
To upgrade the switch software, follow these steps:

link from the Upgrade Software window.
Note: A Cisco.com account is required to
access the software images from the website. |
Step 2 |
Find the latest Cisco IOS software for the switch.
Note: You must download and use the tar
file, not the bin file, to upgrade the switch through the
device manager. |
Step 3 |
Download the tar file to your PC or to a network server.
Note: Upgrading the switch with the tar
file on your PC will be faster than if the tar file was on
a network server.
|
Step 4 |

window, and navigate to the tar file on your PC.
|
Step 5 |
Click Upgrade.
During the upgrade process, the window displays the status
of each stage in the process. When the upgrade process completes,
the window displays a success message.
If the upgrade process does not complete, an error message
appears. Refer to the switch release notes for troubleshooting
a switch software upgrade. |
