Release Kit.

This is the drivers software release for IBM eServer xSeries and System x
Broadcom-based NetXtreme II products.

1.0  Overview
_____________

This package includes device drivers and related software for all IBM
eServer System x Broadcom (R) NetXtreme II (TM) BCM570x-based Gigabit 
Ethernet, including BCM5706 and BCM5708.

This sw release supports the NetXtreme II 1000 Express Ethernet Adapter
Option PN 39Y6066 ( Card PN 39Y6067 ).

The operating systems supported include Windows 2000 and 2003 Server,
Netware, Linux, Solaris, and Unixware.

The server platforms supported include x86, x64, and AMD64.




2.0   Drivers Software Details
______________________________

(1) Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and Microsoft Windows 2000 Support

    The Broadcom VBD architecture supports Windows 2000 and Windows 2003
    Server platforms. The software components under "b06bdrv" and "l2nd" 
    from \W2K are designed to run normal L2 NDIS traffic for NDIS 5.0.
    The software components under "b06bdrv" and "l4nd" from \W2K3 and
    \W2K3x64 are designed to run either normal L2 NDIS traffic for NDIS 5.1
    or in Microsoft SNP for NDIS 5.2, for Windows 2003 with Microsoft SNP
    installed.

(2) Before installing the Management Applications, please install 
    the Broadcom NetXtreme II GigE diagnostic software using the 
    Driver Installer located in the \W2K\DrvInst folder or the
    \W2K3x64\DrvInst folder.  
    Run the Setup.exe from there to install the software.
