       1.0   Overview:  
               The PSOC on the valiant system can be updated from a DOS
               bootable diskette.  The diskette can be made using the EMT4 utility.  The image
               file is provided for the purpose.
               The format of the image file for all the releases will be of the form:
               valiant_xx_xx.img.  The first “xx” is the base code version and the second “xx”
               is the system code version.  If any of the “xx” is greater than the previous
               versions the system needs an update.

1.2      Limitations
This utility is provided to ease the flashing of the PSOC in the system instead of manually updating each system.  The utility is supported as a self bootable disk.  Not supported on linux, windows etc …

1.3      Enhancements
This version valiant_ 30_18 of the code adds support to the  VTT_SEL line for future Harpertown, Wolfdale processors
and also incorporates new MSID[1:0] definitions for the new processors.

1.4      Level of Recommendations and Prerequisites for the

                   The system must be able to boot from a floppy.
                   This code must be updated on all SIT level planars.

       2.0   Change History


This version valiant_ 30_18 of the code fixes issues related to incorrect FRU mappings
on the previous release.  Also, tightens the power down sequence timings on AC Power Loss.

       3.0   Installation and Setup Instructions

3.1      Step by step instructions for this code update
 1. download the valiant_xx_xx.img file from onestop shop
 2. Use EMT4 utility  to make a diskette
 3.  Place the diskette into the floppy drive
 4.  Power the system on and boot from this new floppy
 5.  You will see the following messages
           a)   Starting PC DOS
           b)  Detecting RAMDRIVE
           c)  Copying files to RAMDRIVE C:  ( this will take couple of min. )
           d)   !!! USE THIS CODE FOR VALIANT ONLY !!!!!
           e)  Upgrading PSOC – Valiant Version xx-xx  ( xx as applicable )
           f)   WARNING: AC power Cycle System after programming is
                 complete
          g)    Press any key to continue ……
6.     Wait for 100 percent completion of the programming.
7.      The system in most cases will go DC off
8.      AC power cycle the box. 
9.      PSOC code update is COMPLETE !!!!!!!!!!!
