Q. When working in Corel PHOTO-PAINT™, I am no longer able to access the menu bar. How can I correct this ? A. If you have clicked View, Maximize Work Area, then the screen will move out beyond the boundaries of your monitor. To restore your screen try the following: 1. Press ALT+V. This accesses the View menu. 2. Click Restore Screen from the menu. If this does not restore the screen, try the following: 1. Press ALT+F, and click Exit. 2. In Windows® 95 launch the Windows Explorer, in Windows 3.X launch File Manager. 3. Double-click the COREL50 directory. 4. Double-click the CONFIG directory. 5. Double-click the CORELPNT.INI file, to open it in Notepad. 6. Change the "Window =" line in the [PHOTOPAINT] section to remove any negative symbols. Note: Just remove the "-"sign in front of the numbers. For example it might read Window=-1,0,- 766,558,0. Change the line to read Window=1,0,766,558,0 . 7. Click File, Save. Exit the file and close the Windows Explorer or the File Manager. 8. Launch Corel PHOTO-PAINT. Q. Why do I get the error message "The file format is invalid or the filter type is not registered", when I double-click a GIF or JPG image from Windows Explorer or File Manager? Close all Corel products running 2. Double-click the Main group, and double-click File Manager. 3. Click any *.JPG file, and click File, Associate. 4. Type the path to your JPG Viewer. 5. Repeat steps 1 through 6 to associate all GIF files. In Windows 95 1. Close all Corel products. 2. Click Start, Programs, Windows Explorer. 3. Click any *.JPG file, and SHIFT+ right-click. 4. Click Open With. 5. In the Open With dialog box , select your JPG viewer from the list. 6. Enable the Always Use this Program to Open this Type of File check box, and click OK. 7.
