# 5017- Uninstalling CorelDRAW 5 from Windows 95 Warning: Before manually uninstalling any 16-bit application from Windows 95, it is strongly recommended to back up the SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT files. In addition you should make backups of the WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI files to a floppy disk. These files can be found in the WINDOWS 95 folder. To uninstall CorelDRAW 5 from the Windows 95 operating system, carefully perform the following steps: 1. Backup any personal or customized files that have been stored in the COREL50 folder. 2. Click Start, Programs, Windows Explorer. 3. Locate and delete the COREL50 folder. 4. Locate the WINDOWS 95\START MENU\PROGRAMS folder and delete the COREL50 folder. 5. Exit Windows Explorer. 6. Click Start, Run, and type WIN.INI. Press ENTER. 7. Locate and delete the [CorelGraphics5] section including the heading. 8. Click File, Save, and exit the WIN.INI. Warning: Proceed with extreme caution during this next section. Incorrect changes made can prevent Windows from loading. Read all instructions thoroughly before proceeding. 1. Click Start, Run, and type REGEDIT. Press ENTER. 2. Double-click HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, and delete the following entries (if applicable): CDRAW5 CMOVE5 CORELCHART5 CORELDRAW.CORELDRAWAPP.5 CORELQUERY CPAINT5 CQUICKDRAW5 CSHOW VENTURA PUBLICATION 3. Close the Registry Window. 4. Remove any CorelDRAW 5 shortcut icons that are on your desktop. To do this, click the icon, and press DELETE. 5. Right-click the Recycle Bin, and click Empty Recycle Bin. 6. Restart Windows. Note: It is a good practice to run a SCANDISK and a DEFRAG after making changes of this nature.
