A To have full access to all fonts, symbols and clipart images, you must have the CD-ROM version of CorelDRAW 5. 1. Insert CD-ROM #1, and launch CorelDRAW. 2. Click File, Import 3. Click the CD-ROM drive from the Drives list box. 4. Double-click the CLIPART directory, and click Corel Presentation Exchange *.CMX format from the List Files of Type list box. 5. Double-click the Clipart directory that you are interested in, i.e., Aircraft, Animal, Arrow, Bird, etc. 6. Click the Clipart file, and click OK. A You must have the CD-ROM version of CorelDRAW 5 to have full access to the True Type and Type 1 fonts. All True Type fonts and Symbols are located on CD-ROM #1 and can be installed through the Windows Control Panel. A CorelDRAW 5 was designed and tested for use with Windows 3.1, and Windows For Workgroups 3.11. It has been successfully tested to run with Windows 95 and OS/2 v2.11. CorelDRAW 5 has not been tested for use with Windows NT . It is only supported in as much as Windows NT emulates Windows 3.1. Q How do I change the fill, outline and text defaults? A To change the default fill or outline, perform the following steps: 1. In CorelDRAW, click File, New. 2. From the Fill tool or the Outline tool flyout, click the desired fill or outline. 3. The message, "Nothing is currently selected. To which types of new objects will the default apply?" Choose any or all of the following options. Graphic - this will apply the default to all new graphic objects. Artistic Text - this will apply the default to all new Artistic text . A General Protection Faults and application errors result from memory shortages, memory conflicts or corrupt files on your system. Generally, they are memory conflicts with device drivers, software and hardware components. Usually, you can bypass these messages and continue working, however, you should always, save your file immediately if possible, and exit and restart Windows. For information about troubleshooting errors in Windows 95, refer to Fax on Demand document #2100. Error Messages The error messages below are often intermittent, making troubleshooting difficult. If they become persistent and predictable, troubleshoot them like General Protection Faults errors. Common Errors: 1000 Allocate memory failed. 1001 Lock memory failed. 1002 Reallocate memory failed. 1010 Memory block exceeded length limits. 2000 These are caused by temp files. You may have to recreate your SWAP file or provide Windows with more disk space for temp files. Q How can I create a bitmap with a transparent background? Q What are the most common printing issues for CorelDRAW 5.0? A The most common printing errors are outlined below: General Protection Fault in Module CD-ROMRGFX50.DLL. This error message usually occurs when printing to a network printer while running CorelDRAW 5 versions F2 (or earlier) under Windows 95. PS errors such as Limitcheck, DicFull, StackUnderFlow (or StackOverFlow), Ob-errors or problems such as objects dropping out or only « to 1/3 of the image printing. To resolve this error try one of the following: Try setting the PSComplexityThreshold= to 400 or 500, instead of the default 1500. This setting is altered in the CORELPRN.INI file, located in the COREL50\CONFIG directory. Turn on Auto Increase Flatness in the Print, Options, Options dialog box. Q I am receiving errors when saving or opening my document. How can I resolve this? A If the error occurs when you are trying to save the file, perform the following steps: 1. Export the file as a CMX (Corel Presentation Exchange) or WMF (Windows Metafile). 2. Save selected objects by clicking File, Save as, and enabling the Selected Only check box. 3.
