# 5005- Installing Adobe Type1 Fonts The use of Adobe Type1 fonts under Windows is made possible by the Adobe Type Manager (ATM). For an application to make use of a Type1 font, that font must be installed correctly through ATM. This is true for CorelDRAW 5 and any other application that supports Type 1 fonts. The CorelDRAW 5 CD-ROM #2 has a FONTS directory that contains all 825 Corel fonts in the Type1 format. To use the Type1 fonts, they must be installed manually. By default, CorelDRAW will setup True Type. If you want to use Type 1 fonts exclusively with CorelDRAW, perform a Custom installation and do not install any of the fonts. To Install Fonts Using Adobe Type Manager 1. Open the ATM Control Panel. 2. Click Add Fonts, and click the CD-ROM drive. 3. Double-click the FONTS\ATM directory, and the subdirectory where the fonts are located. 4. Click the desired fonts, and click Add. 5. Close the ATM Control Panel and restart Windows. Once a Type1 font has been installed in ATM, it will be available for use in CorelDRAW. Note: If a True Type font of the same name is also installed, the Type1 font takes priority when a name conflict occurs. For complete details on installing Type1 fonts, refer to the documentation provided by Adobe Systems Incorporated. CorelDRAW 5 supports ATM 2.5 or higher.
