# 4501- Shortcuts in CorelDRAW 5 1. To duplicate an object, drag the original to where you want the duplicate to go, and right-click before releasing. This will leave the original where it was before you moved it, and create a duplicate. 2. If you want to bring the rulers closer to the page, press SHIFT while dragging the rulers anywhere on the page. Click where the two rulers intersect to drag both the horizontal and vertical rulers together. To center the ruler on the page, press and hold SHIFT while double- clicking on the ruler. 3. If you want quick and easy access to the Grid and Scale Setup, double-click on either ruler. 4. If you want quick and easy access to Page Setup, double-click the page border. 5. Double-clicking on the Pick tool, is a fast way to select all objects on your page. 6. Double-clicking on the Node Edit tool, opens the Node Edit RollUp. 7. Double-clicking on the Rectangle tool, automatically adds a page frame. 8. Double-clicking on the Text or Paragraph tool, opens the Text RollUp. 9. Double right-click on any tool to activate the online Help for that tool. 10. Arcs and pie wedges can be accomplished very quickly with the Node Edit tool. To do this, draw an ellipse using the Ellipse tool, and click the Node Edit tool. Click on the single node, and drag within the ellipse to create a pie wedge, or outside of the ellipse to create arcs. If you press CTRL while dragging, the arcs and wedges will be constrained to specific degrees as outlined in the Preferences. 11. Right-click on a color well to set a color outline for an object. 12. Press CTRL while dragging one of the side handles across an object, constrains it to a perfect reflection, (mirror). Right-clicking before releasing will leave the original while mirroring the duplicate.
