Hard disks vary in many ways. The controller board must be told several important parameters in order to interface properly with a particular disk drive. The BIOS ROM on your hard disk controller board contains several possible hard disk parameter tables. There are usually between four and sixteen sets to choose from. Sometime you may change drives and want to use a new parameter table entry. They are selectable by jumpers on the board. The manufacturer of the drive will tell you what parameters are required. The program HDTABLE.COM will read out the parameter table from the controller board so you can chose the entry that is best for your drive. Les Penner CIS 75236,1572
