KOMclean is a LysKOM client. It consists of a
small application which gives you a system
tray icon and a web based UI.
The Tray Icon
The system tray icon can be used to open the
KOMclean web UI. Double click the tray icon to
open all active session in your default
browser. Right clicking the tray icon gives
you the options to open the web UI and to exit
KOMclean.
When there are unread messages or instant messages
the tray icon will change to indicate this.

You do not need to keep the
web UI open all the time. Almost all state is
stored in the application and not in the web UI.
Reading messages
To read messages you normally select the
conference in the list on the left side of
the KOMclean web UI. When doing so you will
see a list of all threads in the selected
conference. Clicking on a thread will bring up
all messages in that thread.
The messages in the thread are indented more than
its parent so you can easily see which message
a text is commenting. The exception to this is
when there is only one comment to a message.
In this case there will be a small arrow (

) to the
left of the title instead of the extra
indentation. Messages with an arrow (

) to the left
of the title are comments to the message above
it.
Only unread
messages are expanded when viewing the messages
in a thread. Clicking the title of a message
will expand or collapse it. There is also a
link at the bottom of the page to expand or
collapse all messages.
If new messages arrive when
you are viewing the thread they will not be
expanded. They will however be indicated as new
messages by bold text.
Another option to read messages is to use the
"Next unread" option at the top of the UI.
This will take you
directly to the next thread containing unread
messages, or to the next instant message
conversion with unread message if there is one.
The keyboard shortcut to go to the next unread
thread is 'n'
If you do not want to read all messages in a
conference there is an option to mark all
messages as read when listing all threads in
a conference.
Writing messages
To write a new message the "New message"
menu item is used. You can select who you are
writing to and who you want to send a copy to. If you want
to add another to or cc address, click the
"To:" or "Cc:" title to the left of the select
boxes.
If the message you want to write is a reply to
another message you should instead go to the message
you want to reply to and click the "Reply"
toggle at the bottom of the message text.
Instant messages
Instant messages can be sent to anyone you have an
open chat with, this can be either a conference
or a person. In order to start a new chat,
select the "New chat" option in the menu.
New chats will automatically open when you
receive a message from someone.
Joining conferences
To join conference the "Subscriptions" menu item
in the "Administration" section of the menu is used.
If the conference is open to join the checkbox
can be checked and you are a member. If
subscriptions are protected you have to contact
the supervisor of the conference and ask him/her
to add you. When you are added you will get an invite which
you can accept or decline.
If you want to know more about the conference or
change your subscription settings you can view
the details by clicking "(Toggle details)" for the conference. This will also
show you the presentation of the conference if there is one.
User information
If you want to check who a user is you can look at
the users presentation. Go to the "users" page located
in the "administration" section of the menu.
If you look at your own details you can change your
presentation or change your name.
Conference administration
To create or change a conference the "subscriptions"
page is used.
Creating a new conference can be done using the
input form at the bottom of that page.
If you are the supervisor for a conference the
details for that conference will look different.
The details page will give you options to change
the conference setting, change the presentation
and add or remove users. It will also give you
the option to rename the conference and to
change supervisor to someone else.
