Skipped kernel configuration part (same procedure as I used with 4.3 release). The systems installs several device drivers and hangs right after displaying "plip0 on ppbus0". It hangs forever. The previous 4.3 system brings the "Waiting 15 seconds for SCSI device..." message. The 4.4 does not but hangs. >How-To-Repeat: Same procedure as reported. Also removing unused device drivers in the kernel config session does not solve the problem and the system hangs. When entering the kernel config session, 7 conflicts are reported. This was also the case with the 4.3 release but the 4.3 release did not hang. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: State-Changed-From-To: open->closed State-Changed-By: dougb State-Changed-When: Mon Oct 15 15:40:07 PDT 2001 State-Changed-Why: Please send this information to freebsd-questions@freebsd.org. You've covered most of the bases, but you should also include whether your conflicts were all resolved when you finished the configure for the 4.4 install. Also, have you changed anything in your BIOS settings between the two installs? Specifically related to the PnP options? Good luck, Doug http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=31305 >Unformatted:
