Is the main reason for not including all the protocols that are specificed in rfc-1700 (or perhaps a later version when this is read) mainly to speed the running time of the getproto*() family of functions? >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: Add the specified numbers by rfc's to the protocols file. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: From: Garrett Wollman To: graphix@iastate.edu Cc: freebsd-gnats-submit@freebsd.org Subject: bin/2168: A few common protocols missing from /etc/protocols Date: Sat, 7 Dec 1996 15:16:03 -0500 < While there are several protocols mentioned in rfc-1700 that are missing > from /etc/protocols there are some that are rather common that are > missing such as 9-IGP. That's because they don't really exist. There are already too many outdated protocols in /etc/protocols. If you can find a protocol which is in actual use right now and which is not covered by the file, then please send a more specific bug report naming that protocol. If you just want a complete list of assigned protocol numbers, then you can get it from the IANA's Web site. -GAWollman -- Garrett A. If there is a specific in-use protocol you would like to see listed, please file a new PR. >Unformatted:
